Within a state of expansion, outside the realm of enforced inevitability, lies the space of wilful ignorance, the birthplace of all that is possible.

The work of Jana Emburey, Justine Formentelli and Jonathan Kelly claims this space with an approach that is intuitive, explorative and all encompassing.

Eliminating separation between past and future, process and outcome, the focus returns on the elemental, allowing for multiple points of emergence.

Recurring yet evolving shapes, motifs and gestures serve as visual meditative aides creating a personal navigation system to rediscover, define and realise the world and our place within it.

Alice Kemp, Pink Flowers in Belgrave Square Garden, 2019

We have invited British painter Alice Kemp to be our first artist in residence taking over our Courtyard Studio at 11 Eccleston Street for a month. Alice has focused her residency on producing a new body of work in response to this year’s Belgravia in Bloom theme “The Language of Flowers”. The Courtyard Studio is open to the public from 21 to 26 May for a chance to see Alice’s new works alongside recent complete pieces and works in progress.
